FirstAssist secures a deal to underwrite a scheme portfolio of protection insurance for British Insurance.

The partnership will see FirstAssist providing its PPI that offer short-term protection for workers who have lost their income due to circumstances out of their control, such as involuntary redundancy, accident or illness.

Available via safetyfirst.co.uk launched on 1 September 2008, the proposition will make protection insurance more accessible for British Insurance's wide range of customers, whilst also delivering excellent value.

All covers are designed to offer a tax free monthly benefit of up to £1500 per month, over 12 to 24 month timeframes, depending on the insurance plan. They all cover events that take place after initial 30 to 90 day time period following initiation of the payment protection. Customers can elect to have protection for one, two or all of the events allowed.
