PRWeb, the online news distribution service of Vocus (NASDAQ: VOCS), today announced it has added four new distribution partners to its news release distribution network. The new distribution partners include online magazines and Web sites that feature content ranging from arts & entertainment and sports – to technology and life science and in combination with PRWeb's existing distribution partnerships, increase PRWeb's total reach to more than 80 million unique readers.

PRWeb enables small- and medium-sized businesses to easily submit press releases online, and makes the content available to its news distribution partners. In addition, PRWeb releases are distributed to an audience of more than two million visitors each month on, a quarter million RSS subscribers and 35,000 reporters and bloggers.

In aggregate, PRWeb's network makes news and press releases available to an audience of more than 80 million unique visitors in the United States alone. In addition to PRWeb's syndication network, PRWeb news releases are distributed to an audience of more than two million visitors each month on, 250,000 RSS subscribers, and 35,000 opt-in reporters and bloggers.

The new partners are as follows:

  • Zimbio is an interactive online magazine read by over 18 million people each month. The publication focuses on entertainment, style, current events and other pop culture topics and will receive content from PRWeb related to arts & entertainment, fashion, sports, and home & family.
  • Earth Times is an online news site with a monthly readership in excess of 1.5 million. The latest breaking news and sports from around the world, covering environmental issues in particular, is complemented by comprehensive press release coverage. Free membership offers access to customized email alerts and social interaction. The media outlet maintains a 24/7 staff.
  • BioPortfolio is the leading careers, news and information resource for the life science and pharmaceutical industries – and is one of the most popular Web sites in its space with more than 25,000 unique visitors each day. The site has opted for receive PRWeb content related to biotechnology, science and medical news.

Today's announcement adds to a series of new partnership announcements that PRWeb has actively pursued to extend both its reach and to develop vertical segments for specialized content. For example, in October PRWeb announced a partnership with Gale to distribute e-research and educational content, while in July, it signed news release distribution agreements with Docstoc, State Newslines, Trust Earned Travel and Visibility Magazine.
