The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is a federal law requiring employers with 50 or more employees to provide job-protected leaves to employees with personal or family medical needs. In addition, a number of states, including California, have their own family leave laws.
Federal and state laws on workers' compensation, family and medical leave, and disability accommodation meet at what employment experts call the "Bermuda Triangle" of employment laws. Navigating employment decisions becomes complicated by compliance with these various statutes.
Announcing: Fair Measures new webinar, Managing Leaves of Absence & Accommodation, instructs managers and supervisors of their responsibilities related to medical and disability leave. The workshop also explains the overlap of the laws in the triangle, how to spot the "red flags" and seek help, thereby greatly reducing the risk of corporate and personal liability for violations and that could result in big fines.
Since 1982, Fair Measures has been providing training on management law. Some of their clients include Adobe, NetApp, Facebook, and Brocade. Fair Measures provides employment law training for organizations throughout the U.S.
