Internet start-up, 10KWEB, announces the addition of Saudi Arabia to its global family network. Saudi Arabia follows Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt and is the first Middle Eastern country with a 10KWEB team within its borders.
Saudi Arabia is relatively young, having only been founded in 1932, and is the second largest country in the Arab world after Algeria with an estimated population of over twenty-seven million people. Almost fifty per cent of the country’s population is considered regular internet users. Since the death of King Fahd in 2005, the country has seen a steady growth in reform with the goal of losing its dependence on oil exports, opening up the country to new industries and bringing relief to the country’s unemployed and disenfranchised citizens.
Reform and new opportunity are believed to be the motivating factors behind the new team in Saudi Arabia. 10KWEB Co-Founder, Anthony Martins, says, “Even in a country with such strict codes as Saudi Arabia, success is a universal motivator. People want to expand their horizons and find a new opportunity with which to grow and prosper. We at 10KWEB are both proud and motivated to support that growth and prosperity.”
10KWEB was created January 2012 by Anthony Martins and Thomas Bang as an online resource for aspiring blog writers and small business owners. Their website launched on March 5th, 2012 and is currently used in the United States, Mexico, Great Britain, Germany, China, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Italy, Argentina, Brazil and New Zealand with more markets in development.
