The off-site iPhone training class offers individuals access to instruction on one of the most sought-after technologies in the industry with the ability to sleep in the comfort of their own beds.

The class covers everything a student needs to know to begin developing applications for iPhone, although students attending the class should be well-versed in C and at least one object-oriented programming language. The course topics include:

  • Using Xcode and the iPhone Simulator and an overview of Objective-C, the language used in all iPhone development
  • Drawing with Core Graphics and OpenGL and animating graphics with Core Animation
  • Using NSURL and NSURLConnection to access web services and CFNetwork to do socket communications
  • Dealing with orientation and using the Accelerometer for input
  • Integrating the camera, address book, and audio into applications
  • Using Core Location to determine the user location and localizing applications for international use

Students attending the class are responsible for bringing an iPhone or iPod touch, a USB connection cord for the handset, and a Mac with version 10.5.4 and the most recent version of Xcode installed.
