Founder to be in attendance with experts in the IBS Community
TORONTO, Ontario, - The Irritable Bowel Syndrome Self Help Group, (http://www.ibsgroup.org), announced today that it has been invited to speak in a panel discussion at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Functional GI & Motility Disorders Symposium in Chapel Hill, NC on November 4, 2000. The symposium is organized by Douglas A. Drossman, MD and William Whitehead, PhD, Co-Director's UNC Center for Functional GI & Motility Disorders. Presenters include W. Grant Thompson, MD, Professor Emeritus of Medicine, University of Ottawa, Canada and Nancy J. Norton, MA, President and Founder International Foundation For Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders.
This symposium will educate patients and their families on a multidisciplinary treatment approach to functional GI and motility disorders. With internationally and nationally renowned speakers, attendees will learn about diagnosis and treatment of the disorders, understand the differences between the physician/patient perspectives of functional GI and motility disorders, acquire a set of tools for symptom management and explore the benefits of support groups and other available resources.
