Beautiful Savannah Cat

“You don’t have to have the tallest cat in the world. Just come to the TICA Annual and enjoy the show,” comments Gloria Mahan, Show Manager of Jazzy Cats, “I guarantee that you will meet some of the most beautiful cats in the world!"

Would you like to meet the tallest cat in the world? Do you want to learn how to train your cats? Do you want your cat’s behavior and veterinary questions answered by leading experts? Do you want to see the most beautiful cats in the world? If the answer is yes, you are invited to attend Jazzy Cats and The International Cat Association’s Annual cat show, being held at the Santa Clara Convention Center, 5001 Great America Parkway Santa Clara, Calif., Sept. 4 and 5, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Highlighting the two-day event will be an official challenge to the existing record for “Tallest Cat” on Sunday, Sept. 5, at 10:00 a.m. Watch these beautiful cats as they are measured for the title. If your cat is taller than 16.48 inches from shoulder to toe, then he or she may have the opportunity to be immortalized in the famous Guinness Book of World Records. Dr. Jennifer Yee of the VCA Hemingway Cat Hospital in Saratoga, Calif., will be measuring cats to ensure that strict and proper protocols are followed in keeping with the guidelines set forth by the Guinness World Records™ organization. If you want your cat to compete, fill out the entry form at Jazzy Cats and be officially measured! Your cat may have a spot in the famous Guinness Book of World Records!

In addition, Marilyn Krieger, noted Certified Cat Behavior Consultant who is known as The Cat Coach, will demonstrate clicker training on Saturday, Sept. 4, at 3 p.m. Contrary to popular myth, cats can easily be trained to do tricks such as sitting, shaking hands and jumping through hoops. The Cat Coach and her willing co-teachers, beautiful Savannah and Bengal cats, will educate attendees on the basics of clicker training. Krieger also will offer her expertise on how to solve inappropriate elimination challenges in cats during a talk scheduled for Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

Throughout the TICA Annual event, Dr. Yee and Krieger will be available to answer any veterinary or cat behavior questions. The event will also offer the exciting Savannah-Rama where spectators come and meet the various generations of Savannahs from F1 onward and have the opportunity to talk to the owners and breeders. Most people have only seen this breed in magazines and on TV so this is a wonderful opportunity to have your questions answered. Saturday, during the lunch time break, there will be a "fun ring" where all the Savannahs are informally judged. Rosettes for best ears, tail and even for the biggest clown will be awarded. Savannah Cats are one of TICA's newest and fastest growing cat breeds and have been featured on Cats 101 and CNN.

In addition, there will be lots of vendors with interesting items for sale for both cats and people.

“You don’t have to have the tallest cat in the world. Just come to the TICA Annual and enjoy the show,” comments Gloria Mahan, Show Manager of Jazzy Cats, who is hosting the event. “I guarantee that you will meet some of the most beautiful cats in the world!”

General admission tickets prices are $7 for adults, $6 for seniors and children between the ages of 6-12, free for children under age 6. For $2 off admission, print out and bring the Jazzy Cat coupon

ABOUT TICA
TICA (The International Cat Association) is the world's largest genetic registry of pedigreed cats and household pets. TICA stands apart from other cat registries because it recognizes more new breeds than other cat fancy organizations, and because it allows household pets the same titles and awards as pedigreed cats. TICA also ensures the future of the cat fancy through its Junior Exhibitors program and by mentoring new exhibitors and breeders. To contact TICA, please telephone 956-428-8046 or send an email inquiry to information(at)tica(dot)org.
