The response from students has been great. There is a lot of excitement and enthusiasm about being able to participate in a program that will allow them to gain experience, meet new people, and earn money.

College Book Renter, a venture-backed textbook rental company, is putting students to work at college campuses all over the country. The company has created a new program called Team CBR, which is designed to provide college students with an opportunity to gain marketing experience and earn money while promoting the latest trend in the college textbook industry, textbook rental.

Campus Representatives are given unique promotional codes that customers can use to receive free items and valuable discounts on textbooks. Every time someone places an order with a rep’s code, the Campus Representative will receive a five percent commission on the order. Campus Representatives are also given promotional items, such as flyers, handouts, and t-shirts, to help them promote their code. They also work closely with CollegeBookRenter.com to plan promotional events at their college campuses. By giving the representatives the right tools, they can get off on the right foot and get their information out to start earning commissions.

This program is designed to allow students the opportunity to gain experience in event planning and sales and to better understand marketing concepts while being rewarded for their efforts. Students can get creative with how they promote their code. Some current representatives have posted their code on social networks and blogs, sent emails to organizations they are a members of, and handed out information on the first day of class.

Whitney Daniel, graduate of Georgia Southern University and New Business Development Representative for CollegeBookRenter.com says, “The response from students has been great. There is a lot of excitement and enthusiasm about being able to participate in a program that will allow them to gain experience, meet new people, and earn money.” Team CBR currently has representatives at several universities across the nation.

With the busy life of college students, it can be hard for them to fit classes, work, studying, and extracurricular activities into their days. Being a campus representative allows students to have flexible schedules and promote their code when they have time or as they see fit. They are essentially their own boss, which is one thing many campus reps enjoy.

Currently, CollegeBookRenter.com is in the process of creating a website for Team CBR members that will provide them with their own community forums, access to promotional items, the availability to check their commissions, and ideas on different ways to share their codes and earn more commission.
