Lyra Research, the digital imaging authority (http://www.lyra.com), is excited to announce that Aurelio Maruggi, vice president and general manager of the Inkjet High-Speed Production Solutions Division of HP’s Imaging and Printing Group (IPG), will deliver the keynote address at the 2011 Lyra Imaging Symposium. The 14th annual Symposium will be held on January 24–26, 2011 at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage, California. The Symposium’s varied presentations and panel discussions will explore the event’s official theme, “Navigating the Road to Profitability.”
Maruggi and his HP team are responsible for the development of a new category of high-speed digital presses based on ink jet technology and the deployment of end-to-end solutions to accelerate the adoption of digital printing in the publishing and graphics segments. Maruggi joined HP in December 2002 to manage IPG strategic alliances. In 2005, his managerial role at HP expanded to include original equipment manufacturer business development, operations, and sales of HP products and ink jet technology.
Prior to HP, Maruggi served in various technical and management roles with Olivetti, including a position as the program manager responsible for the development of the first Olivetti ink jet printer and, later, as vice president of the Inkjet Products Division. He also acted as general manager of Jetech, a joint venture between Olivetti Lexikon and Philips, in which he was chartered to develop fax and Internet appliances for the European market.
“We are very excited to have Mr. Maruggi as our 2011 Symposium keynote speaker. Our attendees, who represent the major players in the industry, will want to hear what the world’s largest technology company has to say about one of the hottest markets—ink jet high-speed digital presses—in the digital imaging industry and how it relates to their growth strategy,” said Charles LeCompte, president and founder of Lyra Research.
