Van Buren Street on Friday, January 28 at 10 a.m. Speakers at the event - which include Michael Trailor, Director of Arizona Department of Housing; Phoenix City Councilman Michael Johnson; Kim Dorney, Director of Housing for the City of Phoenix; and Jeffrey Greenleaf from Chase - will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by tours of the property and of the adjacent UMOM New Day Centers campus.

UMOM New Day Centers and The NRP Group are pleased to announce the VIP Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of The Legacy Crossing Apartment Homes at 3330 E. The Legacy Crossing Apartment Homes is the result of a joint partnership between UMOM – a Phoenix landmark in progressive social services – and NRP, which has developed, built and manages nine properties in Arizona with three more beginning construction in Phoenix within the next 12 months. The property features 80 spacious 1, 2, and 3-bedroom apartment homes with fully-equipped kitchens, ceiling fans, private patios and balconies and window coverings, along with an array of community amenities that include a swimming pool, playground, resident fitness center, resident computer center, laundry facility, free social services and resident activities, and more.

“Without giving away how long I’ve been in the real estate business, I must admit that in all my years I’ve never been involved in such a worthwhile development undertaking with such a worthwhile development partner as UMOM New Day Center,” says Mark Shoemacher, Vice President of Development for The NRP Group. “I’m into my fifth year of working on this project and I know the UMOM staff had toiled at least a couple of years prior to UMOM choosing The NRP Group as their partner; but the time and the effort are being rewarded as we celebrate the opening of The Legacy Crossing.”

UMOM New Day Centers wanted to build multi-family residences that would provide a transitional centerpiece for clients that have worked through their programs as well as others in the community who want the benefits of new affordable housing along with a sense of neighborliness and comfort.

Currently The Legacy Crossing is 60% leased and is getting a positive reception from potential renters for its innovative style, spacious floor plans, onsite amenities, and resident services. Successful applicants are required to pass credit, criminal and previous housing checks, and must meet standardized income requirements in order to live at The Legacy Crossing.
