Mendocino Coast, CA (PRWEB) December 21, 2011
Living Light Culinary Institute, a gourmet raw food school in northern California, launches the Hot Raw Chef Sweet Valentine Video Recipe contest December 21. Recipes for the contest must be low-glycemic, gluten-free, and made with 100% vegan, 90% raw ingredients, and the videos must be no longer than five minutes. Submissions deadline is midnight Pacific Time January 17, 2011. The winner will be announced February 7, 2012.
A total of over $4200 in prizes will be awarded. Contest submission guidelines, instructions for uploading a recipe video, registration for voting, and a sample Sweet Valentine Strawberry Mesquite Macadamia Shortcake demo with Living Light founder and director Cherie Soria are available at HotRawChef.com.
Grand Prize is a $2,000 scholarship towards tuition for any Living Light culinary class or a stay at Living Light Inn, plus a Green Star Elite 5000 Juicer from Tribest, valued at $539, along with other prizes. Runner-up receives a $500 credit towards a culinary class at Living Light, and the People’s Choice Award, valued at $250, goes to the aspiring chef who wins the most votes online. Everyone who registers to vote will receive an eBook of the Hot Raw Chef Sweet Valentine recipes and a chance to win a Green Star Elite 5000 Juicer or a Tribest Personal Blender 300 XL.
There is no charge to enter. The contest is open to both professional and amateur chefs who submit a five-minute video demonstrating an original low-glycemic, gluten-free raw vegan recipe. Entries will be evaluated on presentation, teaching style, recipe quality, and adherence to judging criteria. Videos will be judged entirely on the merits of the recipe demo and not on production quality or camera work. No fancy video equipment is necessary to win.
“This is our fourth video recipe contest and the focus is on low-glycemic, gluten-free recipes that taste absolutely delicious,” says Soria. “Recipes can be either sweet or savory.”
Cherie Soria started Living Light Culinary Institute in 1998. She and her staff have inspired students from over 50 countries and six continents, teaching them how to make healthy gourmet raw vegan cuisine. The Hot Raw Chef Sweet Valentine Video Recipe Contest will highlight step-by-step demos of quick and healthy low-glycemic, gluten-free dishes with a gourmet spin.
