Monkeys and humans are more alike than you might think. In fact, some primates, such as the rhesus macaque monkey, share a sequenced genome that is 93 percent the same as humans.
Having observed thousands of hours of primate social behavior and human workplace conduct, author Heather Wandell agrees that there is a connection. From her years working at Frisky’s Wildlife and Primate Sanctuary in Woodstock, Maryland, Wandell explores this theory in her latest book, “Monkey Business: 37 Better Business Practices Learned Through Monkeys.”
Wandell believes that by observing the behaviors of primates, both human and nonhuman, we can learn new practices and habits that will enhance our human relationships.
