TZ Minerals International (TZMI) is pleased to announce the Keynote Speaker for the 6th Annual TZMI Congress is Mr Rajiv Biswas, Senior Director and Asia-Pacific Chief Economist at IHS Global Insight, presenting 'Global and Asia-Pacific Economic Outlook in 2013 and Key Risks'. Mr Biswas is responsible for coordination of economic analyses and forecasts for the Asia-Pacific region, contribution to the IHS global forecast, client support, business development and media interaction. He has extensive experience in economic analysis in the Asia-Pacific region and has published widely on a range of economic, trade, and investment-related topics.
Now less than a month away, the 6th Annual TZMI Congress is set once again to be the meeting place of the world’s titanium and zircon industries. More than 350 delegates from 30 countries will gather in Hong Kong at the InterContinental Hotel from 5 to 8 November and the agenda items will include global demand across the mineral sands supply chain in the current environment, combined with new project development and new investment interest in the mineral sands industry.
Speakers include industry leading companies such as Base Resources, DuPont Titanium Technologies, Iluka Resources, Indian Rare Earths, IRC Group, Osaka Titanium Technologies, Richards Bay Minerals - Rio Tinto, Shandong Dongjia Group, SITTEC Ltd, Son Industries, Tianhe Titanium Industry, TIMET, TiZir Ltd and Tronox along with specialist papers from TZMI experts.
In 2011, TZMI held the inaugural ‘New Projects Investor Day’ which received positive feedback from both presenters and delegates. As a result of feedback, the format has been modified to ensure this new segment can be experienced by all. In 2012 the ‘New Projects and Investor Opportunities’ Showcase is incorporated into the main TZMI Congress programme.
In the morning delegates will experience presentations from a high calibre of industry leaders and experts from the titanium and zircon value chain. In the afternoon, delegates will have the opportunity to understand specifically about new projects and investment opportunities available with a greater understanding of what this means for the industry at large. Presentations will be made by Alkane Resources, Cameroon Rutile, Casaforte Mineração, CIC Resources, Diatreme Resources, Gunson Resources, Oregon Resources, Sheffield Resources, World Titanium Resources and Zirco Resources.
Demand for titanium feedstocks, titanium pigment and zircon has slowed, particularly in China as growth slows there, however, TZMI believes that the underlying demand in the long term provides a strong and steady outlook for titanium and zircon products.
The slower than expected global economic recovery is certain to have some impact on the industry as all commodities, not just the titanium and zircon sectors, are affected by the current lingering debt woes in Europe and slower than expected growth in China.
It is in this environment that the world’s titanium and zircon leaders will come together at the TZMI 2012 Congress. With registrations for the 2012 Congress expected to be in excess of 400 and the inclusion of the ‘New Projects and Investor Opportunities’ Showcase, the event promises to be one not to miss.
