U.S. Wood Pellet Manufacturer Obtains $100M in Funding from Capital Corp Merchant Banking to Produce and Export to Lucrative European Renewable Energy Markets

The U.S. wood pellet manufacturer wants to develop a production facility and export much-needed wood pellets to European markets, where the market is booming due to EU requirements to generate 20% of their electricity from renewable energy sources by 2020. Currently, about 65% of the total demand for wood pellets comes from Europe.

Some of the fastest growing sources of renewable energy in the world are the wind, the sun - and the wood pellet.

The deal takes advantage of a growing lucrative renewable energy market throughout the European Union.

Orlando, FL (PRWEB) October 12, 2012

The funding structure by Capital Corp Merchant Banking agreement consists of providing the U.S. manufacturer with $99.75 million in funding to develop full-service renewable energy wood pellet manufacturing facilities with the capacity of each future facility to produce up to 160,000 metric tons of CGL certified wood pellets annually. The manufacturer already has a sales and distribution agreement in place for his wood pellets production with a European distributor. This in turn makes the deal much stronger and takes advantage of a growing lucrative renewable energy market throughout the European Union.

Essentially made from forest product ‘leftovers’ such as wood shavings and sawdust, wood pellets offer a renewable energy resource for power generation and residential heating. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has endorsed wood pellet heat as one of the cleanest-burning and most renewable energy sources available, according to CN Rail. Worldwide demand is expected to double in the next five years as pellet production and distribution represent compelling renewable energy business opportunities.

Europe’s eagerness for more pellets has turned the U.S. into an energy exporter as European government mandates are essential to the increasing use of pellets in power generation and the growing global pellet trade.
