"We pack up the kids, come for lunch, play and shop at least once a week. It's great. I wish all the Whole Foods had these fun, soft play areas,” said one Boulder, Colorado mom.
Whole Foods Market emphasizes healthy choices for families and the popular PLAYTIME custom-themed soft playground system supports that mission.
With a website dedicated to helping parents provide good nutrition to children of all ages, Whole Foods Market is well-known as a leader in the healthy-living industry. Located in the heart of Boulder, CO the Whole Foods at 2905 Pearl Street serves a family-centered community, according to Leah McClay, Whole Foods Marketing and Community Relations Specialist.
“We felt that the soft play area would enhance families’ experiences here at our store,” says McClay.
Whole Foods installed the family-friendly outdoor soft play area to teach kids good nutrition while they play and have fun. PLAYTIME, LLC custom-designed an outdoor soft playground system, which includes a climbers, crawlers and tunnels shaped like a giant broccoli tree, a strawberry, a banana slice, an apple and a bunch of asparagus.
McClay says the outdoor playground, which opened in the spring of 2012, has been a hit.
“I hear lots of giggles and squeals coming from the play area every day,” reports McClay.
Moms who were recently at the soft play area raved about the nutritious food theme, the location of a playground at the Whole Foods store, and the help it gives them in shopping with children.
Boulder Colorado Moms report:
Soft play areas have proven to drive traffic at retail shopping centers and malls nationwide and around, and have become the new community center, according to a recent report “Play Areas Lure Shoppers” by the Wall Street Journal.
Whole Foods specialist McClay adds, “I believe that it's a nice way for moms and dads to get out of the house and keep the kids distracted for a couple hours in a safe environment, and shop at the same time.”
