We felt there was a definite need to offer more environmentally conscious ways to deal with our waste products.

Green Coast Rubbish is delighted to be named as a finalist in the Better Business Bureau’s 5th annual Torch Awards. Green Coast is one of four finalists for the Green Award, which is given to a business that blends financial success with a strong commitment to achieving positive social and environmental outcomes.
The Torch Awards is the Better Business Bureau's most celebrated event of the year, recognizing and rewarding local businesses that demonstrate unusually high ethical practices. The application process for the awards is rigorous and thorough. Winners for each of the awards categories will be announced on October 25, 2012 at the gala Torch Awards dinner at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver.
Green Coast Rubbish is a locally owned and operated full-service junk removal Vancouver company based in beautiful North Vancouver, BC. The company is environmentally conscious and its main objective is to minimize the amount of waste that ends up in landfills by recycling or donating instead – ideally, 100% of the time. In 2011, Green Coast Rubbish outperformed its competitors in this regard, diverting 75% of the waste it hauled to Vancouver recycling or other environmentally friendly waste streams. The company is not resting on its laurels but is determined to improve its diversion rate still further during 2012.
"My brother and I started Green Coast Rubbish as an idea and a truck,” says owner Eamonn Duignan. “Green Coast was founded on the idea that we should improve the way that waste is managed in our community. We felt there was a definite need to offer more environmentally conscious ways to deal with our waste products."
Green Coast Rubbish enjoys recycling Vancouver and is an advocate for waste management in the policy formation and planning of Vancouver’s Greenest City 2020 initiative.
