According to a recent article on the BBC News website, the ex ITV finance manager invented a production company that conned ITV out of £140,000. He signed off fake invoices worth up to £7000 each while working for ITV Yorkshire, Tyne Tees and boarder.
ITV inadvertently paid £54,000 for camera and training work and £87,000 to a fictitious production company over a two year period to a recovering drug addict that the finance manager had recruited to pose as a contractor and bank the payments.
The ex-employee was sentenced to three and a half years in prison for conspiracy to defraud and acquiring criminal property while his partner in crime received two years for conspiracy to defraud, acquiring criminal property and distributing the proceeds.
