Harry Turtledove and Robert Silverberg, two award-winning authors, are releasing their latest books as part of the critically acclaimed Stellar Guild series. The series “teams up” a prominent author with a younger one of the author’s choice … each writing a story set in a shared universe and complementing each other to complete the book. The series is being edited by five-time Hugo winner Mike Resnick.
Harry Turtledove, author of such bestsellers as Ruled Britannia and The Great War: American Front (a Publishers Weekly top-ten book of 1998), teams up with his daughter Rachel Turtledove for On The Train, creating an intriguing universe where The Train runs endlessly around the globe, through realms magical and fantastical.
Turtledove’s On The Train will be released on October 10th in paperback; an ebook will be available on Amazon from October 2nd. As a special promotion, the ebook (regular price $7.99) will be priced at only 99 cents on Amazon on October 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
Robert Silverberg, a SFWA-designated Grand Master and the author of such bestselling science-fiction classics as Sailing to Byzantium and Lord Valentine’s Castle, is teaming up with a new author, Alvaro Zinos-Amaro, to present a story set in the far future where Earth-born immortals must deal with the destruction of their home planet. When the Blue Shift Comes will be released in November and, like On The Train, will have a three-day ebook special when the ebook will be available for 99 cents on Amazon.com (on November 2nd, 3rd & 4th).
Both these books will be published using Print-on-Demand, a first for new material for bestselling authors such as Harry Turtledove and Robert Silverberg, reflecting the rapidly changing dynamics of the publishing industry today.
Previous releases in the series include Tau Ceti by Kevin J. Anderson and Steven Savile and Reboots by Mercedes Lackey and Cody Martin.

Future titles in the Stellar Guild series (by Larry Niven, Eric Flint, Mike Resnick and Nancy Kress) are also expected to be published using Print-on-Demand technology.
