“Performance was one of our key goals. We've taken the same technology
we use at www.handsetdetection.com and made that available for customers to install on their own servers," said Richard Uren, Handset Detection's co-founder.

Melbourne, Australia (PRWEB) October 05, 2012

Mobile detection capabilities took a huge step forward earlier this month when Handset Detection announced they were releasing a local device detection version of their software, which can be installed on their customers’ own local servers.

The Melbourne, Australia company has perfected mobile device detection technology for the past four years. It allows users to discover exactly which mobile devices are accessing their websites so they can better serve customers aesthetically and functionally.

Now, Handset Detection users can access this information right from their own server with a pre-made development kit. The kit is charged per site and not per server which ends up being a big savings for the user.

“Web developers and digital agencies just can't keep up with the hundreds of new devices added each month,” co-founder Richard Uren says. “We have over 1.3 billion detections performed and over 500,000 mobile device variations in our database. We provide world class mobile detection that you can run locally or via our web service.”

Handset Detection’s mission, Uren says, is to provide the same service companies like Google and Facebook enjoy but at a more budget-friendly price.

“The detection system is all in memory so there's no database dependencies and it’s incredibly fast,” he says. “Performance was one of our key goals. We've taken the same technology we use at http://www.handsetdetection.com and made that available for customers to install on their own servers.”
