I think the Nik Software acquisition is just further proof that Google+ is here to stay and I’m strongly recommending businesses start engaging sooner rather than later.

Google is heating up the battle between Google+ and Facebook for social media domination with Google acquiring Instagram look alike Nik Software. Samuel Junghenn founder of Online Marketing Agency Think Big Online says the move cements Google’s intentions to become a major player in social media.
Just a few weeks ago Google Senior Vice President Vic Gundorta announced via his Google+ account that they’ve now reached 400 million users. While this is still significantly lower than Facebook it’s the most successful social network that Google’s released to date.
The acquisition of Nik Software should help to bolster that position as well, Nik Software offers photo services similar to the popular Instagram. Facebook users upload an average of 300 million photos per day via Instagram and associated photo services, so the Nik Software acquisition should be a positive move for Google+.
“Google+ has proven to be a success thus far for Google and part of that success is due to the search engine benefits it offers to businesses. Businesses are being forced to engage on Google+ as it boosts rankings, which is a smart move by Google.” Said Mr Junghenn.
“I think the Nik Software acquisition is just further proof that Google+ is here to stay and I’m strongly recommending businesses start engaging sooner rather than later. I expect to see user numbers to continue to grow over the coming months as Google+ cements it’s position.” Said Mr Junghenn.
