Spring Hill, FL (PRWEB) October 08, 2012
On September 24, 2012, Narconon Suncoast Rehabilitation Center held its inaugural charity Golf Tournament at Spring Hill’s Silverthorn Country Club, to raise money for their drug rehabilitation scholarship program –which helps individuals struggling with alcohol or drug addiction that face financial hardship and have no insurance.
According to a recent article from The Tampa Bay Times, about 3.8 million Florida residents have no health insurance (1). With that number exceptionally high, Narconon feels that it is their obligation as a center dedicated to preventing drug addiction to help people who can’t afford proper treatment.
Proceeds from the golf tournament went to the Narconon Suncoast Rehabilitation Center Drug Rehabilitation Scholarship Program, and enough funds were raised to help a family in need of Narconon’s service.
“From our first charity golf tournament, the funds we raised will help us achieve our goal to help more people recover from drug and alcohol addiction, including those who are financially challenged in these tough economic times.” commented Tammy Strickling, Executive Director of Narconon Suncoast Rehabilitation Center.
Narconon Suncoast would like to thank the sponsors who donated funds and/or prizes for golf winners:
