“The contest is also a great way for communities to get involved and rally around their local shelters to support our ultimate mission of finding great homes and families for so many deserving animals.”

Calling all animal shelters! Pets Add Life (PAL) invites animal shelters to enter the “Help a Shelter Out” Facebook contest for a shot at a $10,000 grand prize in addition to runner-up cash prizes. To enter, shelters must become fans of PAL’s Facebook page as well as complete the entry form. With the help of their communities, the shelter that receives the most votes now through Nov. 16, 2012 wins. All winners will be announced Nov. 19, 2012 during PAL’s National Get A Pal For Your Pet Day.
“With so many shelters across the country working hard to provide proper care for pets in need, we could not be happier to help support and give back to them,” said Bob Vetere, American Pet Products Association (APPA) president. “The contest is also a great way for communities to get involved and rally around their local shelters to support our ultimate mission of finding great homes and families for so many deserving animals.”
To participate, shelters can nominate themselves or PAL Facebook fans can enter their local shelter. Entrants must ‘like’ PAL’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/petsaddlife and complete the “Help a Shelter Out” entry form. A $10,000 grand prize will be awarded to the shelter that receives the most votes followed by $3,000 and $2,000 cash prizes awarded to two runner-ups. Voting is limited to one vote per day per fan.
Founded by APPA, the non-profit PAL campaign is designed to demonstrate the joys and benefits of responsible pet ownership and encourage increased animal adoption.
