Are you the oddball in your neighborhood? Do you feel like your mortgage is huge compared with everyone else’s or that your car insurance bill is outrageous? Here's your chance to find out.
Foster City, CA (PRWEB) October 08, 2012
Are you a “normal” neighbor? Today HSH.com, the largest publisher of mortgage and consumer loan information, launches a new interactive tool that allows homeowners to compare their home, family and finances with the other residents in their zip code.
Keeping up with the Joneses isn’t always about the car in your driveway or the clothes on your back. For homeowners, it’s also about having the lowest mortgage rate and making sure you haven’t overpaid for your home.
“Are you a normal neighbor?” allows homeowners to compare everything from the number of bedrooms in their home to the size of their mortgage balance with that of their neighbors.
"Are you the oddball in your neighborhood?" asked Keith Gumbinger, vice president of HSH.com. "Or are your neighbors the strange ones? Do you feel like your mortgage is huge compared with everyone else’s or that your car insurance bill is outrageous? Here's your chance to find out."
The interactive tool allows users to input information on the number of people in their household, number of bedrooms, age of the head of household and the house itself, the amount of the mortgage owed on the property, the type of mortgage they hold, annual auto insurance cost, commute time and zip code. A results page shows homeowners how they stack up with their neighbors in each category.
Perhaps it’s time to keep pace with the rest of the neighborhood and refinance to a lower interest rate or shop around for new car insurance. Or maybe a homeowner will find that he or she is the one all the neighbors are trying to keep up with.
“Are you a normal neighbor?” is powered by Census data, HSH.com proprietary mortgage data, and Insure.com average car insurance rates.
