On Saturday, November 3, 2012 the first Gluten Free and Celiac Awareness Night with the San Antonio Spurs will be taking place, as well as the Gluten Free Calendar pre-game party. Game time will be at 7:30 PM. The pre-game party will be free and open to the public, whether attending the game or not, and will take place from 3:30-5:30 PM in the courtyard near the main entrance of the AT&T Center.
Attendees can look forward to visiting with local and nationwide vendors who will be sampling and selling their products at the event. Prizes will be given out including two tickets to the game that evening. Guests who purchase game tickets through this group event will also enjoy exclusive, courtside access (rows 3-13) prior to game from 5:30-6:30 pm to watch warm ups.
Those attending the pre-game party will also be able to meet special guest Karen Morgan of Blackbird Bakery who will be doing a book signing. Karen is famous for her delectable gluten free goodies that are as gorgeous as they are tasty. As Karen says, "Come on in so I can show you just how luscious the gluten-free life can be!"
Special guest and San Antonio native, Jason Elmore, who is the CEO and Founder of popular restaurant app, Find Me Gluten Free, will also be visiting with guests at the pre-game party. Jason himself lives with celiac disease and has worked diligently to provide the community with plenty of places to dine out gluten free through his free app.
A portion of proceeds from group tickets sales to the Spurs game that night will be donated to the Center for Celiac Research at the University of Maryland.
