After conducting a nationwide executive search led by healthcare leadership solutions firm B. E. Smith, Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Mo., has hired Dr. Carla Degges as chief nursing officer. A seasoned healthcare executive with 23 years of nursing experience, Degges will assume her new duties at Bothwell Regional Health Center immediately.

Prior to joining Bothwell Regional Health Center, Degges was director of acute care services/ACNO at Baylor Medical Center in Carrollton, Texas. She also served as chief nursing officer/chief operating officer for East Texas Medical Center in Henderson, Texas. Her leadership of the clinical departments at these organizations resulted in improved patient outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Degges earned a doctor of nursing practice in executive leadership from Texas Tech University, a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Texas School of Biomedical Sciences and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She is board certified as an Advanced Nurse Executive and is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
