A new video is posted on CovenantAcademy.org to encourage parents to try the Kerrville Christian school approach to make their children authentic leaders for Christ. The new video from Covenant Academy shows parents, teachers, students, and board members spreading awareness on the many advantages of the scriptural approach to education.
Covenant Academy is the latest in Kerrville Christian schools this year. The foundation of the school has been laid out since 2005 in another name. Board member Judy Carpenter explains, “I started Impact Christian Academy in 2005 and it started with only kindergarten at that time and the parents wanted to start a first grade and at that time we planned on doing it. First to third, the rooms were built, but our church just expanded so quickly that we had to put it off. We were only going to add a grade a year and we had the parents ask to please grow faster than that and we just started praying for it and God just brought everything around in a miraculous way so we started Covenant Academy this year.”
This has been a welcome development for parents who are seeking a Christ centered approach to education for their children. According to parents David and Theresa Gregory, the Kerrville Christian school is just what they needed for their children. Theresa explains, “We just love the atmosphere here. We love the teachers. We feel at home here. They made the transition from home schooling absolutely seamless. The teachers believe as we do, what really let us come into Covenant Academy was our faith in God and his workings in our lives and we’ve seen nothing but that since.”
In recent years, there has been a rise in Christian schools and in the new video, parents Walter and Teri Schreiner say this is because the Kerrville Christian school offers a better learning environment for the children where the family is also integrated. Teri adds, “The children are happy, they are learning, they are a family, they are not just friends, they are family and they feel that as well.”
Covenant Academy teacher Regina Gordon reveals the reason for this in the new video by saying, “I believe that fundamentally, we believe that our school is based on the belief and the truth that children are a gift from God. We believe that each one is made uniquely and we try to our best ability, what God gives us each day to nurture the gifts that the children each have and bring to the table, but we also deal with their weaknesses as well. There is an atmosphere of acceptance here that I think is unique to the Covenant Academy.”
Students in the video cannot help but exclaim praises for their Kerrville Christian school. The students say their teachers are very good and attentive to them, plus they get to meet a lot of friends. The biggest part is that the students say being a part of Covenant Academy is a big blessing because they can worship Christ freely.
Covenant Academy is more than academics, more than athletics, and more than creative arts. It is an experience. It is impossible to reduce to words and pictures the impact this school has on its students, parents, grandparents and community. We have designed this site to provide you with a glimpse into Covenant Academy and the beliefs we were founded upon. Covenant Academy is the premier Christian School in Kerrville.
