Dallas Reading and Language Services offers affordable multi-sensory therapy for pre-school and school-aged children.

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) October 09, 2012

Dallas Reading and Language Services recently re-opened in the North Oak Cliff area of Dallas. The company, founded by Rachel Betzen M.A. CCC/SLP, is committed to providing sliding-scale fee based Speech Therapy services to children in the Dallas, Texas area. To kick-off the company’s first community involvement initiative, Rachel Betzen donated over three thousand dollars’ worth of Speech Therapy services to Dallas Services.

“I feel Dallas Reading and Language Services and Dallas Services share the same core beliefs. My company and Dallas Services are committed to helping families address unique challenges in a proactive manner,” said Rachel Betzen M.A. CCC/SLP. “Each family who turns to Dallas Services for help also needs someone that is understanding of their personal experiences and goals. Like the good people at Dallas Services, I too am a great advocate for individuals with special needs because I know what it is like to face adversity.”

According to the National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities, “Of the 6.1 million children with disabilities, more than 1.1 million fall into the category of speech or language impairment. This estimate does not include children who have speech/language problems secondary to other conditions such as deafness.” Dallas Reading and Language Services believes each child is entitled to maintaining a quality of life. “More than a million children in the U.S. were identified as having a speech or language impairment in 2011,” continued Mrs. Betzen. “I made this donation to help be part of the solution. The children who are helped by Dallas Services deserve to know what it is like to experience success."

Rachel Betzen’s M.A. CCC/SLP donation was recently auctioned off at a Dallas Services’ event. The event helped raise funds for the non-profit organization. Mrs. Betzen has begun her work with the child of the family that bid on, and won, the donated Speech Therapy services. Dallas Reading and Language Services offers affordable multi-sensory therapy for pre-school and school-aged children. About: Dallas Reading and Language Services is under the direction of the company’s founder, Rachel Betzen M.A. CCC/SLP. Mrs. Betzen previously had a successful private Speech Therapy practice. In 2006, Rachel Betzen and her husband were in a car accident. Confronting several complications associated with the accident, Mrs. Betzen also was diagnosed with Lyme disease. She had to adapt her abilities, such as learning braille and being temporarily confined to a wheelchair, to continue on her path to success. As a result, Rachel Betzen M.A. CCC/SLP brings an even-deeper, and more personalized approach, to her methods and relationships with her company’s students and their families.
