Pingar, a leading provider of unstructured data management solutions, today announced that longtime industry veteran Don F. McMahan will be leading the extension of their presence in the Americas as president of Pingar Inc, vice president Americas. Pingar’s innovative metadata and taxonomy products are designed to solve enterprise challenges related to unstructured and semi-structured data, which cost businesses an estimated US$5.3 million per one thousand employees, according to The Hidden Costs of Information Work: A Progress Report by Susan Feldman, IDC. Mr. McMahan’s considerable experience growing partner channels in image capture and enterprise content management markets from Canada to Latin America signals a new phase of growth for the company, ahead of the launch of several new solutions.
Peter Wren-Hilton, CEO of Pingar, said a successful channel strategy is an essential element of the company’s ability to scale to meet the rising demand and delivery needs of enterprises.
"Pingar has been able to quickly reach worldwide markets through our blue-chip channel partners in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. We are extremely pleased to have an executive with the caliber of Mr. McMahan join our global management team and extend our channel strategy,” Mr. Wren-Hilton continued.
“We look forward to his contributions to not only our growth in the Americas but his support in our global expansion and success in the unstructured data markets including the SharePoint world and beyond" Mr. Wren-Hilton concluded.
Mr. McMahan joins Pingar with more than 25 years of successful experience building teams, channels and strategies that have produced exceptional growth in the document management and ECM markets. Mr. McMahan was the former regional business manager, vice president of sales for the U.S. and Canada for Eastman Kodak where he revamped their channels and go-to-market strategies and launched their new channel program for Capture Pro software.
Mr. McMahan is widely known for his success in building channels and alliances, notably with Fujitsu as their vice president of sales for the U.S. and Latin America and as the architect of their market-leading success in distributed scanning. He also pioneered their independent software vendor (ISV) strategy and vertical market push into both healthcare and government and was a prolific recruiter of talent, responsible for most of their North American hires. As executive vice president of sales and marketing he transitioned Visioneer and their line of Xerox scanners from pure retail to a reseller channel with more than 800 partners in less than a year and was responsible for double digit share in the distributed capture category.
Mr. McMahan is also the former chair of the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM) International Board of Directors and a recipient of the prestigious Company of Fellows Award in 2008 for the AIIM organization.
John Mancini, president of AIIM, said "Don has been a leader in the industry and in AIIM for more than two decades. He brings a wealth of insights, experience, and most importantly, enthusiasm to everything he does".
