Mathificent is a brand new learning tool designed to help kids of all ages memorize their basic math facts. Nat Dunn, creator of Mathificent, felt that most math games focus too much on fun and too little on learning, and therefore fail on both counts. Mathificent is different.

Mathificent is not gimmicky. It presents a simple interface that challenges kids to do as many basic math problems as they can in a minute. Kids start with the simplest problems and unlock higher numbers as they progress. Parents and teachers can see how well the kids do by looking at their records.

This app is designed to assist kids or students master basic math skills with just a little practice every day. Kids choose the numbers and operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) that they want to work on and see how many problems they can answer in 60 seconds. Master each number to unlock the next level.

“We believe kids take pride in learning and Mathificent is designed to reward them for their progress. When they ask to play some fun Zombie shoot-em-up game, I say 'Sure, but first you have to unlock the next number in Mathificent." My six-year-old now can rattle out the answers to relatively difficult problems like 18 x 17. And I can easily check how much progress he’s made by looking at the app when he’s 'logged in' as the user,” stated Nat Dunn, creator of Mathificent. Dunn says kids are better off using Mathificent for 10 minutes and then playing Cut the Rope for 10 minutes than they would be playing some silly gimmicky math game for 20 minutes that's not nearly as fun as Cut the Rope or nearly as educational as Mathificent."

Key benefits of the app include:

  • Simple Interface. Kids can start using without parental help.
  • Progressive Learning. Kids move on to incrementally higher numbers after succeeding with the lower numbers.
  • Progress Tracking. Kids, parents and teachers can all track results through the Records screen.
  • Multi-user. Many kids can work on the same device. The app keeps track of them by name.

Mathificent is currently available for download via iTunes for $2.99. It is designed for all current iOS devices.
