CampusAuction: Bid for a Better World is proud to welcome The Heart of a Horse Foundation as a Charity Partner.
CampusAuction: Bid For A Better World (http://www.campusauction.com) lets students engage their social networks to do good by getting the most popular products from socially conscious companies – and revenue goes to charity. It’s free to join … free to bid … free to belong. CampusAuction members vote to support Charity Partners and funds are allocated proportionately to votes received.
The Heart of a Horse Foundation (HOAH) is dedicated to ethical and humane care, treatment and rescue of equine companions. With seven million horses in the United States alone, the American Horse Council estimates there are over 170,000 unwanted and uncared for horses. Each year, 100,000 American horses are slaughtered unnecessarily. The Heart of a Horse Foundation provides support to horses in need and provides welfare assistance in the form of hay, medicine and educational programs.
Among the celebrity endorsers of The Heart of a Horse Foundation are Robert Duvall, Kevin Sorbo, Roseanne Barr, Pat Boone, Bo Derek, James Caan and Selma Blair.
“Society can be judged by how we treat the most vulnerable,” says Eyal Lichtmann, CEO of CampusAuction. “Horses are an absolutely integral part of American heritage and our actions toward them help define the humanity of our society. We are so honored to join this esteemed group of distinguished Americans in caring for the most threatened horses and improving and extending their lives.”
