Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) October 11, 2012
Boar’s Head Brand®, a leading provider of premium delicatessen products, is pleased to announce that the company was able to raise $10,000 for breast cancer research in less than a week. Beginning on October 1st, Boar’s Head launched a campaign where it would donate $1 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, earmarked for breast cancer research, for every new ‘Like’ to the Boar’s Head Brand Facebook page. The company reached its target in less than five days after launching the campaign.
Due to the overwhelming response, Boar’s Head is extending its Facebook campaign to raise an additional $10,000 for the fight against breast cancer. Since 2008, Boar’s Head Brand has contributed over $500,000 to Komen. To remind consumers about the importance of breast cancer awareness, Boar’s Head Brand also labeled its flagship EverRoast® Oven Roasted Chicken Breast and Ovengold® Roasted Breast of Turkey with Komen’s iconic Running Ribbon for the month of October. These products can be found in thousands of delis across America.
“The fight against breast cancer is as important today as it was when we began funding research five years ago,” said RuthAnn LaMore, Director of Communications for Boar's Head Brand. “Breast cancer remains a leading cause of cancer death in women, and we’re proud to continue our support in the research to find a cure. This Facebook campaign allows us another vehicle to raise awareness and support for a very worthy cause.”
