It required him to complete a rigorous set of courses and written examinations regarding his knowledge of advanced design, implementation, and management of charitable gift techniques and strategies. The curriculum also addresses philanthropic tools including charitable trusts, private foundations, supporting organizations, donor-advised funds, pooled income funds and charitable gift annuities. Martin adds this to his Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) designation and more than 30 years of industry experience in various leadership roles, as well as time spent running his own financial and insurance consulting business.
