Tints of Nature launches ammonia-free, organic semi-permanent hair color line that is completely free of PPDs and PTDs (Paraphenylenediamines and Paratoluenediamines – pigment). The formula contains up to 65 percent certified organic ingredients such as aloe, chamomile and comfrey to moisturize and soothe during coloring, while wheat proteins work to strengthen and protect hair. A semi-permanent color does not penetrate the hair shaft; it simply coats the hair to provide shiny, temporary color to hair, without damage or risk. Unlike henna and demi-permanent colors, the semi-permanent washes out cleanly. Tints of Nature’s collection of eight semi-permanent shades are now available nationwide at Whole Foods Market stores and select specialty natural grocers. Additional information about the semi-permanent launch can be found on the brand’s US website, tintsofnature.us.
“Customers who are concerned with eating organic and healthy foods are becoming increasingly aware of natural versus traditional beauty products. We’ve seen double-digit growth in our US sales year over year since we launched the brand here,” said Basil Moutsopoulos, director of US sales for Tints of Nature. “Our customers that want to color their hair want to have the cleanest, most natural and organic ingredients possible. They challenged us to develop the semi-permanent line to meet their standards for a cleaner, more natural product.”
Tints of Nature continues to lead in development of innovative and natural hair color and care products with the introduction of certified organic, ammonia-free, PPD-free semi-permanent colors. Once again, Tints of Nature raises the standards, for all other natural hair and beauty brands. Retail brand Tints of Nature is a part of the Herb UK beauty company, the largest independent manufacturer of hair color products in the UK.
In 2003, Tints of Nature was the first natural hair color brand to remove parabens from all of its products. Today, paraben-free formulas are commonplace in most natural beauty products. Recently, propylene glycol, an ingredient commonly found in many beauty products and specifically in permanent hair colors, received widespread negative attention and consumer backlash as a hazardous chemical ingredient. Tints of Nature removed propylene glycol from all of its products as of January 2012. Made with wholesome natural and organic ingredients that work to condition hair while coloring it, the innovative formula mitigates the damage and health risks typically associated with coloring hair.
As a global beauty brand, Tints of Nature recognizes that each country has specific hair care needs and cultural perspective.
