It’s harder to make big improvements in one’s career beginning on January 1st while trying to lose weight, volunteer more, give to charity, etc. December is the perfect time to begin the foundation work for achieving goals for 2013.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 01, 2012

According to Wikipedia.com, one of the most popular New Year’s Resolutions is to improve career and/or get a better job. Effective presentation skills is one way to do that and the Speaker Success Summit will afford its participants with the opportunity to not only learn more about presenting but also the business of speaking. The two day event will take place December 1st and 2nd 2012 at the newly renovated Holiday Inn Atlanta Airport North.

The Speaker Success Summit, which is a two day, boot camp style training, is designed for small business owners, emerging speakers, authors, entrepreneurs, actors, trainers, consultants, and internet marketers.

Speaker Success Summit founder, Angela Ray knows firsthand that speaking, as an addition to one’s career is an effective way to increase business and recognition as an authority in a particular field. She has studied the greats, including Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer, Les Brown, and Willie Jolley. These top motivational speakers all have successful businesses that continue to grow because of those effective speaking skills. In an interview with ABC’s This Week, Billionaire Warren Bufftett said, “If you improve your communications skills, I will guarantee you that you will earn fifty percent more money over your lifetime.” This is the advice he gives to business students. Many new speakers aspire to be like the greats, but often fail before they get started.

“It’s very common for people to make and break New Year’s Resolutions,” Ray said. “One reason for failure is unrealistic expectations. It’s harder to make big improvements in one’s career beginning on January 1st while trying to lose weight, volunteer more, give to charity, etc. December is the perfect time to begin the foundation work for achieving goals for 2013. I want to serve those who are ready for that step at my live event.”

Ray has spent most of her life speaking. In high school, she became the first African American to represent the state of North Carolina in the National Civic Oration Contest. She went on to earn a degree in Speech Communication, with honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. No stranger to training and teaching others, Ray spent more than a decade as a speak and trainer, for Monster. She is also a former instructor for Duke’s Continuing Education, teaching performance and writing, the vital components for speaking.

Ray has assembled a roster of competent experts to present during the two day event. Ken Canion, former Biggest Loser contestant will speak on “Building a Speaker Platform.” Canion is the author of the books, Help! My Mind is Fat, and God, I Ain’t Trying to Hear All That.

Participants who register early will have an opportunity to compete in the “Speakers’ Got Talent Showcase™.” Only a small number of speakers will have three minutes to present their best content and will receive on the spot feedback from a panel of talented experts. The Speaker’s Got Talent judges include actress and communications specialist, Nevaina Rhodes, casting director, Dilsey Davis, and Gitomer Certified Speaker, Todd Gash.

Tina Brinkley Potts, America’s Top Reinvention Strategist will present “Five Vital Components to Build Your Speaker Business Online” for those who are ready to jump start this part of their business.
