Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) November 02, 2012
Jet Inc., a manufacturer of wastewater treatment equipment, recently hosted a visit by Under Secretary of Commerce Francisco Sánchez and several of his staff at Jet’s global headquarters in Highland Heights, Ohio.
The visit included a review of Jet’s wastewater treatment technology, a tour of the manufacturing facility, and a discussion of recent Jet initiatives for expanding their export market.
Ron Swinko, CEO of Jet, said, “We are thrilled that Under Secretary of Commerce Sánchez took time during his demanding schedule in Cleveland to visit the Jet facility. Assistance from the U.S. Commercial Service is a critical component of Jet’s international success. Under Secretary Sánchez and EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson recently announced the launch of the Environmental Export Initiative. Establishing this interagency platform provides greater collaboration and enhances government export promotion services by increasing global awareness of U.S. environmental solutions. Jet enthusiastically supports this initiative which demonstrates the ongoing commitment within the highest levels of the administration to promote exports in the environmental technology sector.”
Jet was a 2012 recipient of the President’s “E” Award for exports. The “E” Awards are the highest recognition any U.S. entity may receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports.
Jet, Incorporated was founded by David MacLaren in 1955. The company designs and manufactures onsite wastewater treatment systems and commercial package plant equipment for treating biological wastewater from homes, communities, and commercial facilities. Depending on local regulations, the treated water can be reused for certain applications.
Jet employees attend both webinars and external training seminars related to export shipments and international sales transactions. Jet views education and training of international distributors and local regulatory agencies as other critical factors in increasing exports to developing countries. Creating an awareness of the opportunity for water reuse supports global goals for improved sanitation and environmental sustainability.
