Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) November 05, 2012
PointClickCare, the market leading provider of Electronic Health Record (EHR) software and services for the long-term and post-acute care industry, welcomed approximately 700 attendees to Orlando, Florida for its second annual customer conference, PointClickCare Summit. Taking place from November 4-6, the event’s theme focuses on the connection between building a stable foundation for growth and the ability to nurture positive outcomes.
With customers and partners from throughout North America in attendance, PointClickCare’s line-up of staff, guest, and customer speakers will demonstrate the latest trends in Health Information Technology (HIT) and how they are being leveraged by long-term care facilities to address the most critical issues facing providers today, such as reimbursements, hospital readmissions, resident outcomes, and interoperability.
“We believe the momentum around this event really mirrors what we’re seeing in the industry as a whole,” said Mike Wessinger, CEO, PointClickCare. “Our customer and partner participation has increased by over 60% from last year, clearly demonstrating a desire for educational events that outline how industry best practices and leading technology can align to solve the most pressing issues for providers.”
Attendees will engage in interactive educational sessions, panel discussions, and networking events with industry experts, customers, technology vendors, services partners, and pharmacy services providers. Event highlights include a special keynote presentation by Dr. Joseph Ouslander, Project Director from Florida Atlantic University’s INTERACT team. Dr. Ouslander will be addressing the audience on the importance of quality improvement programs to support reductions in unnecessary hospital admissions and readmissions, a growing problem facing the post-acute care industry today. Dr. Ouslander will review the current INTERACT Program as well as offer a sneak preview into the new INTERACT III tools that will be available with eINTERACT, the recently announced joint initiative with PointClickCare to develop an industry standard INTERACT design and certification for EHR platforms.
