SAN DIEGO, Calif. (PRWEB) November 06, 2012
Space‐Time Insight, the leading provider of next‐generation situational intelligence solutions, today announced details on two honors the company is receiving this week: a 2012 Ventana Research Leadership Award and recognition on the AlwaysOn GoingGreen Global 200 List. As Space-Time Insight kicks off the second day of its SI World 2012 user conference in San Diego, Calif., the GoingGreen Global 200, a list of “the most promising private greentech companies” has been made public. Later this week, Space-Time Insight and its customer, the California Independent System Operator Corporation (ISO), will accept an award for excellence in CIO and IT Leadership for the California ISO’s use of situational intelligence software to more effectively balance the use of renewable energy sources against power demand throughout the state of California.
The Ventana Research Leadership Awards recognize organizations and supporting technology vendors that have achieved superior results through a combination of people, processes, information and technology. Space-Time Insight’s software is being leveraged by the California ISO to correlate and analyze massive volumes of data coming from wind and solar sources, weather feeds, grid sensors, transmission equipment and more, which helps the organization maintain a safe and reliable power grid for the most populous state in the U.S. The innovative geospatial and visual analytics technology used in the situational intelligence solution presents critical information in intuitive visual displays that allow California ISO operators to see and understand what’s happening across 25,000 miles of power lines at-a-glance, so that decisions regarding renewable power usage, the balance of supply and demand, and crisis management can be made in real-time. The Ventana award marks the fifth honor Space-Time Insight and the California ISO have received for this successful technology deployment.
“We are delighted to be recognized yet again for the results we’ve been able to achieve with our advanced control center technology,” said Steve Berberich, President and CEO of the California ISO. “By efficiently harnessing and analyzing multiple streams of fast moving data, situational intelligence saves time integrating and interpreting information and gives our operators accurate and immediate value from vast amounts of real time data pouring into the control centers. These critical tools help integrate high levels of variable supply, such as wind and solar resources that are growing dramatically as California strives toward ambitious green power goals.”
Now in its 6th year, the AlwaysOn GoingGreen Global 200 recognizes promising private green technology companies that demonstrate innovation, market potential, stakeholder value and media buzz. The award will officially be presented to winning CEOs at the GoingGreen Venture Summit, to be held at the Golden Gate Club, November 27-28 in San Francisco, Calif.
“Between the GoingGreen Global 200 list, the Ventana Leadership Awards and the feedback and testimonials that we are getting from customers this week at SI World, we couldn’t be more excited about the real-world results that situational intelligence is generating for organizations,” said Rob Schilling, CEO of Space-Time Insight. “We look forward to channeling this momentum back into our product development and market strategy, so that we can continue to refine and innovate our suite of solutions.”
The 2012 Ventana Research Awards will be presented at the Ventana Research Business Technology Innovation Summit on November 8 at The Tech Museum in San Jose, Calif. SI World continues through November 7 at the Omni Hotel in San Diego, Calif.
