Inogen is proud to announce that the new Inogen One G3 portable oxygen concentrator has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to be used onboard commercial aircraft. Just like its predecessors the Inogen One G1 and Inogen One G2, the Inogen One G3 is now approved for flight. The Inogen One G3 system is the lightest and smallest Inogen One concentrator ever, making a weekend getaway or a trip around the world nearly as easy as traveling without oxygen equipment.
The FAA SFAR rule No. 106 allows for amendments to be made periodically to include new portable oxygen concentrators. The latest update was released on Tuesday October 16th, 2012 and included the Inogen One G3 System. “This is great news for oxygen users who desire to travel with a single solution portable oxygen concentrator that weighs less than 5 pounds,” said Inogen CEO Raymond Huggenberger. “As tanks and liquid oxygen are not allowed onboard aircraft we are pleased to be able to offer oxygen users the freedom to travel as they desire.”
Inogen’s website reads “Oxygen.Anytime.Anywhere.” – a statement demonstrating the company’s dedication to patient freedom and independence is now applicable to commercial aircraft and air travel for the Inogen One G3.
The Inogen One G3 System weighs 4.8 pounds, about the weight of a half-gallon of milk. It is 8.75 inches long, 3 inches wide, and 7.25 inches tall, making it compact and easy to carry. As a single solution, the system is intended to be the primary oxygen supply for the user – day and night, at home and on the go. A major advancement in Inogen’s mission of providing “oxygen on your terms”, the Inogen One G3 is ideal for air travel and even comes with a shoulder-strap travel bag for ultimate portability.
