The program, called “Sock it to Sandy” will provide new socks, hats and gloves to the Salvation Army in New Jersey for distribution to those in need.
“Many homes have been ruined and thousands of people are still without power and heat. As the weather turns colder and the days since the storm increase, the devastation of the impact of Sandy multiplies. The Modern Group, in concert with our partners at Bandit, Generac, Hyster and Terex, has created a program, Sock it to Sandy, in which we are collecting new socks, new hats, and new gloves from generous individuals within Modern Group, our partner companies and our friends and customers. Through the Salvation Army, these will be distributed quickly to those in need”, said Paul Farrell, Modern Group President. “Our Edison, NJ branch, nearby the New Jersey Shore, one of the hardest hit regions, will serve as our Sock it to Sandy headquarters for this program,“ he added.
