We are impressed with the performance of Isabel. It empowers our doctors in making the right decisions and arrive at the right diagnosis as quickly and efficiently as possible

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) November 13, 2012

Isabel Healthcare announced today that St. Louis Children’s Hospital emergency department has deployed the Isabel Diagnosis Checklist tool to provide diagnosis decision support and clinical knowledge management for their emergency department physicians and nurses. Integrated with the EMR in the Emergency Department, Isabel will be integral in helping clinicians make efficient and effective decisions about their patients. In June 2012, the U.S. News & World Report honored for the 10th consecutive year St. Louis Children’s Hospital on the Honor Roll of Best Children’s Hospitals, and it ranked in all ten specialties covered by the annual report.

“We are pleased to provide the innovative Isabel diagnosis and clinical content management tool for our clinicians in the ED. When our physicians encounter unusual or complex cases, they can access the Isabel tool via the EMR and Isabel will generate a list of potential diagnoses for consideration as well as access to other clinical content,” said Pele Yu, MD chief medical information officer at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. “We are impressed with the performance of Isabel. It empowers our doctors in making the right decisions and arrive at the right diagnosis as quickly and efficiently as possible.”

“The diagnosis decision is critical to patients’ well-being, and getting to the correct diagnosis as soon as possible is the cornerstone to reel in escalating healthcare costs,” said Don Bauman, Isabel Healthcare chief executive officer. “By selecting Isabel, St. Louis Children’s Hospital is empowering their clinicians with a complete solution to answer questions about diagnosis, testing and treatment -- enabling them to arrive at the right diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible.”
