The National Accreditation Alliance of Medical Transport Applications (NAAMTA) would like to congratulate Alliance Member, Eagle Air Med for reaching their two-year Medical Transport Accreditation Anniversary.

Serving the Four Corners region (Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah) and the Navajo Nation, Eagle Air Med provides services to medical, surgical, cardiac, trauma, burn, pediatric and neuro patients from rural facilities to tertiary care facilities.

“Eagle Air Med’s partnership with NAAMTA as an Accredited Alliance Member is another way we strive to fulfill our mission of providing safe, compassionate and efficient air medical transportation,” says Mike Brown, Eagle Air Med’s Program Director. “We value our partnership with NAAMTA and look forward to many more years of improving the air ambulance industry by raising the standards for patient care and aviation safety.”

Throughout the year, Eagle Air Med has demonstrated their commitment to maintaining quality practices and strict compliance to the NAAMTA Standards. They take great pride in their employees and in the safety and reliability of the services that they provide to each patient every day.

EAM Compliance Officer, Roxanne Averett stated: “The advantage for us would be to meet state’s requirements for accreditation. For the website, I like having the reporting system and ways for being able to disseminate information such as forms, announcements, or schedules to our employees.”

Another demonstration of their commitment to quality is receiving the Excellence of Community Service Award 2012 from the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS). A national association serving the entire air and ground medical transport community, AAMS bestows this prestigious honor each year to a deserving EMS member for showing excellence in their community service programs.

This award is given to an emergency medical transport individual or organization demonstrating broad-based continuing commitment to the communities they serve. Eagle Air Med was selected as this year’s honoree for their 2011 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

“Eagle Air Med successfully committed its resources to educate their service communities about breast cancer, empathize with those afflicted, and financially support research and detection technology. It is the beginning of a compassionate legacy that will endure far beyond 2011,” stated the Blue Mountain Panorama newspaper, March 29, 2012.

Eagle Air Med has established themselves as a solid, integral part of the communities they serve. As a NAAMTA Accredited Member, they are held in high esteem for meeting stringent requirements of medical transport operational excellence. They have excelled in this process.

About NAAMTA

NAAMTA is a medical transport services accreditation organization committed to developing and maintaining “best practice procedures” and establishing a quality culture for patient care and safety, using a quality management system that encapsulates procedures for evaluation and continuous improvement.

In the beginning of 2012, NAAMTA acquired certification of the prestigious International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 Quality Management System. ISO certification equates to third-party oversight in NAAMTA’s process, reflecting the drive to provide a quality accreditation program and approaching each audit of medical transport organizations equally and fairly.

NAAMTA’s motto “Partnership for Lifesaving Excellence,” and goals reflect our vision which is
to facilitate an Alliance with medical transport service organizations and existing or emerging policymakers to establish and maintain an accurate and valuable set of standards and target accreditation that promotes EMS community exchange, improved organizational performance, and inclusion into overall industry best practices for safety and quality patient care.

NAAMTA recognizes Eagle Air Med as a valued participant in their Alliance community and most recently their contributions in this year’s Alliance Symposium. NAAMTA is pleased to celebrate with Eagle Air Med its second year of Accreditation and Alliance membership.
