The ESPinator automatically compares and ranks the top ESPs that best match the user’s needs.

Released in 2011 and continually updated, the ESPinator is the first tool to offer email marketers a vendor-agnostic, independent method for choosing from among the top email solutions. Users answer a few questions and it quickly sorts through 27 ESPs—including ExactTarget, Yesmail, Responsys, HubSpot, e-Dialog, BlueHornet, VerticalResponse, and more—to reveal an instant list of the top three.

The ESPinator is an online survey that asks users to rate a series of questions based on how critical they are to their email marketing program. Users can answer as few as 15 for a high-level overview of their matches, or as many as 175 for an in-depth assessment. For example, budget-focused questions enable the tool to filter out ESPs that are cost prohibitive, and users who require support for relational databases or other criteria are only presented with ESPs that offer those capabilities. Depending on the user’s desired level of detail, the process takes anywhere from 3-30 minutes.
