Forget everything you have ever read about leprechauns. Meet the charming little creatures in Patricia Richardson’s latest book. Michael O’Hara and Friends to the Rescue opens up the leprechauns’ world and leaves children feeling they’re part of the leprechauns’ everyday lives.
Michael O’Hara and Friends to the Rescue begins as a story of two leprechauns on vacation and develops as the reader follows them and their “Rescuers” through the ups and downs of their everyday pursuits. Through this tale, Author Patricia Richardson has lifted the leprechauns from Irish folklore and brought them into our world effortlessly and believably.
Written for young readers, Michael O’Hara and Friends to the Rescue opens the eyes of readers through two unique attributes: the visually-imaginative writing of Mrs. Richardson and the eye-catching illustrations by seasoned artist, Joel Ray Pellerin. The deep detail of the writing enriches readers and leaves them with a wondrous new look at the world of leprechauns.
“To my mind my leprechauns with their varied occupations, everyday concerns and close relationship with other leprechauns are much more believable than most storybook leprechauns.” “Only 2’ tall, the leprechauns are child-size and I think children will be fascinated by them.” “Embedded in the stories are references to the values, which we all want are children to learn and hold throughout their lives.”

About the author
Born in Pennsylvania and educated in Catholic schools on the East coast, in Hawaii and California, Patricia Richardson has lived in Southern California since a teenager. Widely traveled, she claims the best times are those spent in Ireland, Germany and Sweden, all countries in which she has ancestral roots. An early reader, taught phonetically, it’s almost impossible to find her without a book in her hands or close at hand. Mrs. Richardson admits to devouring three to four books a week, all history, her first love. Occasionally there will be a break for Jane Austen and requests for help with genealogical research, which always are answered.
