ImageWorks Studio, a leading online marketing company, is proud to be honored with a Silver Medal in the 8th Annual Davey Awards for their design and development work on MAG America, one of their many valuable clients. MAG America was also selected for recognition by the Interactive Media Awards as a recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award in the Charity category. In addition to being a challenging award to win, the Outstanding Achievement Award is one of the highest honors awarded by the IMA. In order to qualify for this award, a website must be awarded at least 460 points on a 500 point scale. MAG America and ImageWorks Studio received 473 points for a high standard of planning, overall professionalism, and execution.
MAG America is a world-renowned 501(C)(3) organization that was previously honored as a Co-Laureate of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize. In addition to now featuring an award-winning website, MAG America is known for collaborating with local communities in more than 35 countries around the world to guarantee the well-being of residents of contaminated areas, assisting in risk-education, and removing deadly weapons from at-risk communities. MAG America also helps communities recover from contamination by clearing affected areas for agriculture, schools, hospitals, infrastructure, and water.
ImageWorks Studio values strategic planning and creative design in each service, emphasizing user experience and conversions/sales. The studio begins with an extensive planning process made up of research, meetings, and discussion. The process then continues with the hundreds of layers, graphics, and images required in each fully custom website design. Finally, ImageWorks Studio handles website coding and CMS integration to ensure that a website is accessible to both human users and search engines alike. All of these steps were ultimately important in the Davey Awards' judging criteria for Silver Medal award winners in 2012.
The Davey Awards judges committee evaluates Gold and Silver winners based on a competitive standard of excellence determined by the International Academy of Visual Arts. In order to receive the Silver Award, a winner must score at least a 7.0 on a ten point scale established by the competition's judges. The IAVA is also responsible for leading the strategic direction of the Davey Awards program. While it's common for several different winners to be selected for each category, it's also common that no winners are selected for any given category. Each year, the Davey Awards judges reward a select few winners with the Best in Show honor, for which only 11 winners are chosen.
The IAVA is a membership-based organization made up of professionals from a variety of disciplines in the visual arts. The mission statement of the IAVA is to embrace the progress and evolution of both interactive and traditional media forms. Executives holding IAVA membership include professionals from leading companies like Polo Ralph Lauren, Microsoft, HBO, Monster.com, MTV, and Victoria's Secret, among others. Judges selected to evaluate winners each year come from a pool of acclaimed media, marketing, and advertising professionals from around the world. Like the IAVA, the Interactive Media Awards Inc. selects award recipients each year based on official selections made by organization members. The IAVA and IMA are among the most competitive ranking organizations in the world.
