Keynote Speakers Announced For AeroDef Manufacturing 2013, Representing Each Segment of Aerospace and Defense Industry

The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) announces its keynote speakers for AeroDef Manufacturing, which will be held March 19-21, 2013, at the Long Beach (Calif.) Convention Center. Speakers represent the brightest minds in aerospace and defense manufacturing across each industry segment - commercial, government and smaller operators. AeroDef is sponsored in partnership with the leading OEMs to find integrated solutions to the industry's toughest challenges through hands-on demonstrations, technical conference tracks and collaborations.

Keynote speakers for AeroDef Manufacturing 2013 have been announced by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).

“Each of the speakers represents a different, strong segment of our industry – government, large commercial and small operator. Each of their requirements are different and our response to their needs are different,” said Paul Oldroyd, technical fellow, Manufacturing Engineering Process Development, Bell Helicopter – Textron Inc., who also serves on the AeroDef executive committee.

“Each brings a different perspective on what their expectations are in the industry. It allows the attendees to understand what the offerings are in each of those segments,” Oldroyd said.

AeroDef Manufacturing Keynote speakers include:

  • Jens Gralfs, vice president, assembly & installation, Airbus Operations, GmbH
  • Michael Packer, vice president of advanced manufacturing development, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics
  • Adele Ratcliff, director, U.S. Department of Defense Manufacturing Technology (ManTech) Program

AeroDef is designed to give participants a comprehensive perspective of the extended manufacturing enterprise. Keynote speakers will address the industry’s challenges and most promising solutions, which attendees can more fully explore through the event’s Integrated Solutions Centers, technical conference tracks and panel discussions. All keynotes will take place at The Deck, the central area of the event floor that fosters collaboration through one-on-one meetings, presentations and networking events.

AeroDef is produced by SME in partnership with leading industry OEMs such as Bell Helicopter, Boeing, EADS, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, NASA, NCDMM, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon. It will be held March 19-21, 2013 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long, Beach, Calif.
