FootLights Publishing, Inc. Launches New Audience-Centered Website

"One thing that keeps people from theatre is the insecurity of not knowing whether the money they spend to see a theatre production will be money well spent."

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 14, 2012

Footlights Publishing Inc., a leading integrated media publisher for the theatre industry, launched a new audience-focused website today that it says will change the way audiences obtain information about and search for shows in the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay Area markets. It also speaks to theatre marketers by providing them with more unique tools to promote their shows.

The new site, http://www.gofootlights.com, features a sizable search mechanism that will allow theatre goers to more precisely search for shows that fit their personal preferences. It also offers rich content about the latest developments and productions in Los Angeles and Bay Area theatre along with opportunities for audiences to interact about their theatre experiences.

Peter Finlayson, CEO and editor of FootLights Publishing, Inc., says the goal for launching the new FootLights website is to provide a myriad of options to help theatre audiences get more information and feel better equipped to make educated ticket buying decisions.

“One thing that keeps people from theatre is the insecurity of not knowing whether the money they spend to see a theatre production will be money well spent,” said Finlayson. “FootLights is setting out to make choosing a production a more positive experience. Our new website search capabilities will allow theatre lovers to perform a detailed search for shows that best fit their personal preferences and our content will expose them to new possibilities in theatre.”

FootLights web content will focus on providing video clips, interviews, and audience reviews called Raves. Raves give audience members the chance to relate their experience with a specific production and provide other theatre goers with testimonials that encourage increased interest and participation in local theatre.

The new audience-centered website also offers editorials aimed at educating theatre consumers and engaging both audiences and theatre professionals in conversation about theatre in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Footlights started in 2008 providing affordable, fully customizable playbills for small to large theatres. Nearly five years later, the publisher has expanded into the digital arena with social media, a weekly Passport to Theatre e-blast and now an audience-focused online presence. Its goal is to engage audiences and create a more robust theatre-going community.

“We have said all along that FootLights is working to draw audiences together to celebrate and commune on theatre,” said Finlayson. “This is the next step in our mission to nourish that function and we are excited to continue moving forward on that promise.”
