Abel Solutions, Atlanta’s only consulting firm focusing on the delivery of real business solutions on the SharePoint platform, today announced it is managing the planning and deployment of the Republic National Distributing Company’s (RNDC’s) SharePoint 2013 platform. When complete, the solution will incorporate a company-wide intranet that will facilitate interdepartmental collaboration and serve as the primary source of company information for 7500 employees in 20 states and the District of Columbia.

RNDC, which previously used a SharePoint 2007 installation on a limited basis internally, chose to skip SharePoint 2010 and move straight to SharePoint 2013 for “the risk/reward balance” it saw in the new release, Soggs noted.

When completed, the new intranet will expand the RNDC’s internal communications platform from emails and twice-yearly employee town halls to incorporate streaming executive leadership videos, spotlight stories about successful associates, and a gateway that will eventually provide access to forms, documents and other information. RNDC plans to announce the new solution at its fall 2012 town hall meeting and roll it out in the first quarter of 2013.
