We have worked with the Food Bank of South Jersey in the past, and when we learned of this local parish that needed enough food for 250 families to have Thanksgiving dinner we wanted to help.

Each year in Southern New Jersey approximately 200,000 people need food assistance, according to the Food Bank of South Jersey. These individuals and families rely heavily on the kindness of others to get by, especially around the holidays. In order to combat hunger and assist those in their local community, the NJ injury lawyers at Console & Hollawell paired up with the Parish of Sacred Heart to provide Thanksgiving meals to 250 local families.
Richard P. Console, Jr., managing partner at the firm, explained that it is the duty of those who are not struggling to assist those in need.
“We are a community, and to that effect we need to provide support for those in need,” Console said. “The greatness of South Jersey stems from our ability to always do our part in helping our friends and neighbors who are experiencing tough times.”
Parish of Sacred Heart, a church located in Mount Holly, assists approximately 250 families year round, but they want to make an especially big impact around the holidays because it can be a very difficult time. Families want this time of year to be special and when you are unable to provide nice holiday meals it can be very discouraging. The church receivesdonations from their parish members and is one of the nearly 200 facilities that gets assistance from the Food Bank of South Jersey, but very few businesses make donations. When Console received word of this he knew that the firm could do something to help.
“We have worked with the Food Bank of South Jersey in the past, and when we learned of this local parish that needed enough food for 250 families to have Thanksgiving dinner we wanted to help,” he said. “Everyone at the firm is always very generous to those in need and we were able to donate four large boxes of nonperishables, a whole turkey, and $100 to assist.”
Console learned the value of monetary donations when working with the Food Bank of South Jersey earlier in the year. Lydia Cipriani, Director of Marketing Communications & Special Events Food Bank of South Jersey, explained that they can make a dollar go much further than your everyday individual.
“The money people donate is critical because we can buy food at vastly discounted prices,” she explained. “One dollar buys three and a half meals, so every dollar that people give, like dollars from your law firm, is incredibly valuable to us.”
The personal injury attorneys at Console & Hollawell, P.C. consistently do their part to make an impact in their community. In addition to assisting thousands of accident victims get the compensation they deserve, they regularly participate in philanthropic events.
