"We chose Promet to work with our team on the implementation of COD due to their strong technical talent and ability to execute on an extremely tight deadline," says Jacob Redding, Executive Director of the Drupal Association.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 19, 2012

Promet Source announced that in August of this year it completed a conference organizing software development project using Drupal 7 for Drupal.org. Promet Source was awarded the development project in June, 2012 as part of a competitive bidding process issued by Drupal Association. The software, called Conference Organizing Distribution or COD, was picked to run Drupal events located in Portland, Sydney and Prague for 2013.

According to Andy Kucharski, Founder and President of Promet Source, the project involved several challenges to bring to completion. “We had a four week development window in which to define the application’s specs and develop a highly flexible conference organizing system for the Drupal community,” Kucharski says. “To meet the project demands, we employed over 20 of our developers from our offices in Chicago and the Philippines. In addition to managing a development cycle that ran 24 hours per day seven days per week, we also relied heavily on the Drupal development community in order to crowd-source programming ideas and obtain real-time feedback on our progress.”

What differentiates the Conference Organizing Distribution solution is that it runs exclusively on the Drupal platform and is completely free to download and use to manage conferences and events of all kinds. COD includes many popular features including:

  •     Customizable event platform
  •     Ticket sales management with e-commerce back-end
  •     Highly configurable event schedule with multiple tracks
  •     Collect user-submitted sessions/talks with ability to pick most popular submissions

“COD is a great distribution of Drupal that fits the needs of our conference well. It allows attendees to register and pay for the conference, select session, connect with other attendees, and create customized schedules," says Jacob Redding, Executive Director of the Drupal Association. “We chose Promet to work with our team on the implementation of COD due to their strong technical talent and ability to execute on an extremely tight deadline."
