One of France’s most well-known designers and photographers is sharing his artistic genius at Art Basel with an exclusive exhibit of his photographic works: “Renoma: Retrospective by an Icon”. Maurice Renoma will make a rare U.S. appearance during Art Basel to showcase his work, which will include pieces from his Mythology Collection and Dean Collection, both signature and classic examples of Renoma’s career.
What: Exclusive opening exhibit event of “Renoma: Retrospective by an Icon” by Maurice Renoma, featuring a selection of iconic pieces of photography.
When: Opening - Friday December 7, 2012 from 6pm to 9pm. Exhibit ends January 2nd, 2013.

Why: To take part in Art Basel Week-Miami, when some of the world’s most prestigious contemporary art shows, exhibits and events take place. Maurice Renoma is a French artist and entrepreneur. He is known for transforming men’s fashion in the 1960’s. With those origins in fashion and furniture design, Renoma took his artistic talent further.
In the early 1990’s, Renoma developed his passion for photography. From the human body, to life on the streets, to clothing, Renoma captures the beauty of the moment in photographs. Besides clothing, furniture and photography, Renoma’s name can also be found on watches, eyewear, tableware, and even in the restaurant business through the Renoma Cafés in Paris, France and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Who: Maurice Renoma’s works will be on exhibit at the Markowicz Fine Art Gallery in Miami’s Design District. Markowicz Fine Art is owned by French gallerist, Bernard Markowicz. The Markowicz Fine Art Gallery is home to the Mourlot estate in Florida. The Atelier Mourlot, located in Paris, is one of the largest printers of artistic posters in the world and widely visited by artists who create original graphic works of art there.
